Camp Marion is located on eleven acres of tree shaded lawns along the shores of Hammetts Cove in Marion, Massachusetts. Celebrating and proclaiming Bible truths, upbuilding the cause of Christ, saving of souls, and encouragement of all believers since 1861.
1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential (i.e. one must be “born again”).
5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
This Association has been holding annual campmeetings consecutively for over 150 years. It is called the Tremont Association because its roots are in that small Massachusetts town. Campmeetings were very popular in those early days of the 1860’s; attendance often exceed 2500.
In 1905 fire burned all the campground’s buildings, including the tabernacle, a restaurant and the boardinghouse. The present campground on Hammetts Cove in Marion was rented that summer with option to buy, and that fall the Association purchased and took ownership of the property.
Aside from great changes in the land, the spirit of the Association remained steadfast, and the ministry has continued uninterrupted. God has always provided a way to overcome whatever obstacles have threatened to hinder our mission. Through inspired evangelists and music leaders, camp directors & staffs and all the many volunteer laborers in the vineyard Camp Marion, thousands of lives have been reached and changed. TACCA’s lovely grounds have been the scene of many retreats, baptisms, Sunday School picnics, weddings and family observances, in addition to its Campmeetings and Youth Camps.
Its message is just as important and true, and as much needed, as it has ever been.
